CTC Easter Road Run
24th March 2008

The day began a little cold and murky,  the forecast was "to improve" we hoped but we knew this wouldn't deter our hardy tractor enthusiasts. 52 tractors arrived, some bringing more than one passenger, ready to be greeted by the tea urn and sausage rolls which Basil and Ann had prepared, to chase away the chill and set everyone up for a great mornings fun.

The route was about 22 miles long taking us around all the back roads to Gwennap, St Day and Perranwell to name but a few. The showers didn't "dampen" any spirits as everyone came prepared with their wet weather gear. There were very few breakdowns, which is always a good sign and a lot of jovial shouting to each other.

The marshals carried out their jobs marvellously, making any road junctions easier to cross for us and the main traffic and many people at the roadside stopped to wave at us, especially the children.

Enough waffle for the minute, enjoy the pictures

When we arrived back at Sunny Corner, the tea urn was hot once again and we tucked into pasties and cakes which were most welcome. A raffle was held and in total £213 was raised on the day for this years charity.
Thanks went out to Basil and Ann for letting us hold the run there and to all the drivers and onlookers who came to support us on the day. After the usual chinwag everybody was heading home late afternoon after a wonderful, if wet, day.
