CTC Easter Road Run |
|
|
| We all met at the old Helston Cattle Market, the assembly area was large and ideal for the really good turnout of 40 plus tractors, with one being driven more than 50 miles each way to take part and others being transported over simular distances. Everyone was dressed ready for the rain, just as well, as itsoon started and never stopped ! The route chosen was very good through various roads and Hamlets which most of us had not previously seen. |

It was such a shame it rained because we missed some of the lovely countryside and the sea. After winding our way through picturesque areas we arrived at the Godolphin Arms where the Pasty lunch good, nice and hot, just what we needed and although most people were quite wet (!!!!) the atmosphere and moral was good. |

When we were suitably refreshed we all set off
for the return trip again through lovely countryside and back along the
coast through Porthleven. Some then diverted to an off road section, which
always adds to the attraction of these runs, then back to the start to
reload and home.

Peter wasn’t happy with me because he had just
bought a tractor
with a cab, but I said "we wont need that one", so we used the Brown and
got soaked to the skin and freezing cold. The lorry felt lovely and warm on the way
home. We didn’t chat much, I wonder why ? Still many thanks to Neil Bowden and
Graham Trevaskis for organising a great day out.
