CTC Annual New Year Road Run
9th January 2007

Starting from Lobb's yard at Summercourt at about 10.30, we turned left at the traffic lights and left again at Clock Garage and headed for Hungary Hills. We came out onto the Ladock/Mitchell road and turned left towards Ladock. At Ocean View we turned right and then left down to Landrine Farm, then to Boswiddle taking the right turning past Hay Farm. We came up to Five Turnings and headed for Trispen past the Methodist Chapel (car park FULL). We then headed for Rowes Garage, crossed the Trispen By-Pass and turning left headed for Truthen Farm owned by Frank Mathews. We then took the left turn at the T junction and headed for Tolcarne Farm (Roger Trethewey's)then a right and a left and eventually passed St Allen Church. Taking the first right from there we headed for Tretherras Farm, Garnick Mill and eventualy came out on the Zelah/Shortlanesend road. From there we turned right and passed Mike James Boswellick Farm, went under the Zelah By-Pass and came to Jack Mitchell's at Callestock. We went through the woods, took the right turning and came out at The White House at Penhallow. Crossing the road we went past the church and headed for Bolingey. From there we turned right in Perranporth and came up the hill by the golf Course. On the corner by the camp site we continued straight on and passed the footpath to the Lost Church. We then went through Mount and continued on that road towards the Newquay/Cubert road and then at the mini roundabout turned right and headed for the Bowgie Inn at Crantock where 80 members and friends sat down to an excellent meal.

After lunch most of the tractors continued on their way back to Summercourt via the Newquay/Truro road, passed the sewage works, Tregaire Farm and Trewherry Bridge, taking the first right passing several of the Trerice holdings, emerging at the ex Rex Davey cottages where we joined the Newquay/Summercourt road. We were very lucky with the weather as the forecast was really bad but had no rain until we were nearly back at Summercourt.
Thanks to Bernard and Geoff for an excellent run once again.        K.K.
