CTC New Year Road Run
6th January 2008

On a bright and dry, although chilly, 6th January 2008 members and friends of the Tractor Club met at Lobb’s Yard at Summercourt for their New Years Road Run. 38 tractors started the run at 10.30 but not all managed to finish it, two pulling out within the first few miles with problems.

They came as far afield as Somerset to Lands End. There were Majors, Internationals, Masseys 35, 65 and 135 , Fords 7000, 5000,4000, 3000 and Dextas. John Green brought his White. Also 2 David Browns, a Nuffield, an Allis ED40 and a Fergy T20

Geoff led the procession out from the yard with his Case LA, through Gunnabarn, Trendeal and on to Ladock, continuing on to Truck, and then heading for Tresillian.

At Tresillian Church they turned left, passing Treffry, Carharthen, Treveor where the shire horses live, Fentongollen where the daffodils are grown and then onto St Michael Penkivel. They proceeded past the old St Michael Penkivel School and Tregothnan Estate, the home of the Boscawen Family.

From there they went through Lamorran Wood passing the Church, over Sett Bridge. At Ruanlanihorne Church they headed for Tregony Bridge, turning up the hill into Tregony.

They continued on until they came to Fair Cross where they turned right and followed the road along to Five Turnings, and taking second left made their way to the Hewas Inn at Sticker where 70 plus sat down to a most welcome roast dinner

On the way back they headed to Lobb’s yard via St Stephens, Brighton Cross and on to Summercourt

Many thanks once again to Geoff and Bernard for another excellent run
