CTC New year Road Run
11th January 2009



 On a cold but dry 11th January 2009  30+ tractors took to the road from Lobbs Yard, Summercourt for the annual new years road run.  Geoff B took the lead with his grandson, Jake with a Ford 7810, followed by Fordson Majors, Peter Lobb with a trailer full of travellers, Charles Ferkin,  Colin Perryman and Basil Coad.  





There were two Zetors, one of which was David Buscombe with a trailer load of youngsters. There were Massey Fergusons 35’s, 65 Paul Kemp, 135 Michael Lean, and 240 Nigel Flynn.  John Deere’s were represented by David Tozer 2020 and Ivan Bennallick with his new acquisition.  T20’s Mr Menhenitt from St Minver and John Ferkin from St Mewan. 



The Fords were represented by Bernard Lobb 7000 4wd, Debbie with the 5000 and a trailer  load of passengers, Tristan Tamblyn 3000, 4000’s Clive Ould, John Smith and Matthew Davis.  Dexta’s were driven by Rex Curtis and John Tregunna.  Mark Roberts had the Muir Hill dumper with the family. .








Internationals were represented by Don Symons 955 and John Knuckey 956, W9 Chris Vincent, W6 Alan Coles and BWD6 Gary Hore.  David Payne brought his Allis ED40 and John Green the White. 






They headed for Indian Queens, up through Blackacre and turning right and then left to Tresaddern  Farm with a well stocked duck pond, and on for about three miles passing Reterth, Trevithick East, Little Tregamere and coming out onto the St Columb by-pass.  They crossed the by-pass, past Talskiddy and then to the pretty village of St Mawgan.  They proceeded right by the Church and then joined the Newquay road at the Newquay Cornwall Airfield.





They then took the coast road to Newquay, through Tregurrian, Watergate Bay and Porth.  Joining Henver Road, Newquay they took the route to Trenance Gardens and then the Crantock road at Trevemper.  Their destination was The Bowgie at Crantock where over 70 sat down to a most welcome and delicious roast dinner
