CTC Working Weekend
20th - 21st September 2008



Over twenty members of The Cornish Tractor Club from Launceston to Penzance, brought their tractors, ploughs and cultivating equipment to Ennis Farm, St Erme on Saturday and Sunday for their annual Working Weekend.  They ploughed over 50 acres of corn stubble and worked it all down ready for  tilling. Geoff Buscombe from Fraddon brought along his County which his grandson Jake Buscombe used, Geoff himself driving a Ford 7810.Other Fords were provided by Peter Lobb (Major), Paul Kemp, Boscoppa (Super Major), John Tregunna, Par (Dexta).  Tommy Hutchings, Hayle (Dexta and Major) which the youngsters of the family Ashley and Victoria used.  Bernard Lobb was there with his 7600 and 5 furrow plough.Tony Matthews, Penwithick also brought a Major.



Mervyn Caddy came from Gummows Shop with his new acquisition, a David Brown 990, and Dave Houghton, Redruth brought his 25D.  Two of our youngsters Dan Burnard, Kennards House used Peter Pink’s Nuffield and plough and Dean Buscombe, a small four wheel drive Zetor. Peter Lobb brought his Massey Ferguson 65 together with a trailer plough. Tommy and Michael Hutchings of Hayle and Marazion brought Nuffields.





There were two Internationals there,  Tim Wasley, Grampound Road with his 250 and John Knuckey Ladock his 956. William Brent, Callington came with his low loader loaded with a Cat D4D and a Massey Ferguson 35. Peter Chapman, Shortlanesend came with his Standard Fordson and trailer plough.




There were three generations of the Chapman family there and also of the Buscombe family and it was lovely to see all the youngsters keen to take part.


The ladies of the Club were kept busy cooking all day breakfasts and apple pie and a pasty supper was held on the Saturday evening together with karaoke.


We were blessed with lovely weather for the weekend, and together with good company made for a really nice weekend. I will leave you now with a few more pictures from the weekend.



















Any funds will be for our Charity for the year, to help to buy a diagnostic scanner for Treliske Hospital for the treatment of Polymyalgea and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
